Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a System Administrator II for the Office of Information Technology (OIT).
Reporting to the Associate Director, Information Technology, the System Administrator II supports enterprise services for the New Brunswick Office of the Chancellor. Responsibilities include Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Box, and basic network services. This position oversees the operation of departmental business applications and partners with our hosting providers to ensure reliable services. The System Administrator will work directly with clients, IT staff, and university leadership.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Administer enterprise services including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Box. Provide direct user support through ServiceNow, phone, email, and in-person or remote meetings.
Basic network support including DHCP, DNS, IP allow/deny lists, and port security. Escalate issues and coordinate network upgrades with the OIT Telecommunications Department.
Coordinate hosting and advanced support for line of business applications with internal and cloud hosting partners. Administer departmental services when required.
Create internal and user documentation.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in computer science or related subject.
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in systems/network administration.
