CFC has a need for a Senior Network Administrator to join the Business Technology Services team. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work at our headquarters office in Sterling, VA, as well as optional remote workdays. The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for monitoring and controlling changes to the operational environment, responding to events and incidents, and facilitating the transition of new services to production operations. This individual will analyze operational data and implement proactive steps to prevent incidents from occurring and will also be expected to be a part of an incident response team. They will also provide design and systems analysis support to development projects.
As a Senior Network Administrator, you will: • Responsible for the analysis, selection, testing and design of information system and networking solutions. • Responsible for system firmware and software upgrades and patches. • Install/Uninstall system fixes as needed. • Work directly with network and systems engineers providing physical support of systems as requested. • Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of monitoring, logging and reporting systems. • Monitor operational incidents and events as part of response teams. • Collect, analyze and report on operational metrics. • Establish and document standards and procedures for management review • Provide technical support to end users.
To be successful, you will need: • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree, or equivalent work experience required. • Minimum of five years of experience in an information systems administration or operations role required. • Understanding of Cisco IOS and NX-OS. • Knowledge of VLANs, STP, VTP, and EtherChannel. • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP). • Configuration and management of Palo Alto firewalls. • Understanding of security policies, NAT, and VPNs. • Knowledge of threat prevention and URL filtering. • Configuration and management of DNS, NTP, and DHCP services. • Understanding of wireless security protocols and RF management. • Configuration and management of Aruba wireless controllers and access points. • Configuration and management of Cisco Unified Communications. • Proficiency in VoIP protocols and voice gateways. • Ability to perform troubleshooting and analysis with little supervision and escalate to management when needed. • Knowledge of change management processes. • Working knowledge of DataDog, Netflow, ticketing systems and NMS skills. • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity programs and processes. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Moderate decision-making skills. • Detail oriented. • Ability to document processes and procedures, develop standard operating procedures and enforce process discipline. • Ability to use excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers. • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
