Implements, installs, monitors, and documents city-wide IT systems infrastructure. As a member of the IT Systems Administration team, this individual provides the technical knowledge and support required to maintain the diverse technology infrastructure maintained by Innovation & Performance for all departments in City government.

Qualifying Requirements:

Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position.  You will be sent an eligibility notice regarding your eligible/ineligible status.

• WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show three (3) years of full-time systems administration experience which includes: performing systems maintenance, implementation and support.  (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
• EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a Bachelor’s Degree from a fully accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Administration, or a related field. The application must clearly show one or more pertinent certifications (CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE), Azure Administration Associate, VMWare Certified Professional) obtained within the past 5 years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
• EQUIVALENCY:  Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above).  The Total Qualifying Requirement is seven (7) years.  (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).
