The Hun School of Princeton is seeking an experienced and versatile Educational Technology Designer to facilitate the integration of technology into the School’s curriculum and activities for a position beginning in August 2025.
Reporting to the Division Head, in conjunction with the Director of Technology. This full-time position is exempt, and works ten (10) months per year.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to recommend and implement instructional technology tools and pedagogical strategies that align with the School’s mission and evolving strategic priorities;
Teach two STEM related courses adapting content based on departmental needs;
Partner with School leadership to develop and refine school-wide policies and practices related to the use of educational technology, with special attention to the responsible use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning;
Design and deliver professional development through a combination of optional summer workshops, in-year faculty presentations, and a growing library of asynchronous tutorials on platforms including the school’s LMS, SIS, and digital communication tools;
Provide tiered technology support including 1:1 troubleshooting for faculty and students, and systems-level support through curated digital resources and onboarding for new faculty;
Support a hybrid 1:1 technology environment, including iPads in the Middle School and a mix of iPads and laptops in the Upper School, primarily Apple devices;
Collaborate with student support teams to create, evaluate, and maintain digital systems for wellness communication, behavioral tracking, and data collection—ensuring tech tools effectively serve the school’s student support mission;
Stay informed on and advocate for best practices in AI integration, cybersecurity awareness (e.g., phishing prevention), and digital citizenship across grade levels.
The ideal candidate will possesses the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Instructional Technology or a related field preferred;
Demonstrated experience leading technology integration in a Mac-based (and hybrid) environment, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting;
Proficiency with learning and student information systems, especially Canvas, including experience designing course materials, training users, and supporting system adoption across departments;
Strong background in instructional technology coaching, digital resource creation, and systems-level thinking, with the ability to support faculty and students in both routine troubleshooting and long-term skill development;
Experience teaching computer science or a closely related discipline, with the flexibility to adapt instruction based on departmental needs;
Knowledge of current trends in educational technology, including AI in education, digital citizenship, cybersecurity, and differentiated learning tools;
Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to self-direct, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, collaborative school environment;
A warm, approachable, and service-oriented mindset, with the interpersonal skills to connect with colleagues across departments and skill levels with humility, empathy, and curiosity;
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and respectful school community, including responsiveness to the needs of diverse learners and faculty;
Discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive data and faculty/student support systems;
A sense of humor, flexibility, and resilience, especially when navigating evolving technologies or helping others do the same.
