DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT, EDUCATIONAL SERVICES The Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools office is seeking a highly qualified administrator to serve as Deputy Superintendent, Educational Services. This position will design, implement and manage a variety of curricular and instructional programs and educational leadership services. The candidate we seek will have demonstrated successful experience administering instructional programs at a public school (district, county office of education, college or university), evidence of a high degree of instructional leadership ability, displays excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to service excellence. Distinguishing Characteristics: This position will serve as acting superintendent in the absence of the County Superintendent. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Deputy Superintendent, Educational Services, is a Cabinet-level executive position, reporting directly to the County Superintendent. The Deputy Superintendent, Educational Services will direct the activities of the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Student Programs and Instruction Division, which includes the following programs and services: Educational leadership which includes working closely with schools and districts to address current issues and provide services; Curriculum and Instructional Support including effective instructional practices and state and local data analysis; Accountability Support including support for Differentiated Assistance and LCAP Development, Review and Approval for LEAs; Instructional Media and Innovation Support; and oversight of the County operated Special Educational programs.

 Five (5) years of successful experience supervising or administering curriculum/instructional programs for a
public school or county office of education
 Successful experience as a school site administrator
 Successful experience as a Cabinet-level administrator in a public school district or county office of education
 Demonstrated success in managing categorical and grant funds
 Possession of a valid California Administrative Services Credential
 Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential
 Master’s degree in educational administration or a closely related field
 Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, consensus building and communication skills
 Ability to exercise sound judgment and recognize political and priority implications related to programs and
strategies
