The Adelanto Elementary School District is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. Reporting directly to the Superintendent and serving as a member of Cabinet, this position oversees all business services functions, including fiscal services, facilities planning and development, maintenance and operations, transportation, purchasing, child nutrition services, and district-wide risk management.

The Assistant Superintendent provides strategic leadership in financial planning, budgeting, and operational services to ensure resources are effectively managed in support of student achievement. The role also involves serving as the District’s expert resource on business operations, preparing and presenting financial reports, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with the Superintendent, Board of Education, and community stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
• Five years of comprehensive experience in school business and/or finance in a public school system
• Chief Business Official (CBO) certification highly desirable
• Strong fiscal management skills, with experience in budgeting, investments, and business services platforms
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

About Adelanto Elementary School District

Adelanto Elementary School District (AESD) is a 15 campus TK-8th grade school district headquartered in Adelanto, CA. AESD serves students in the City of Adelanto (eight schools), in Northwest and South neighborhoods of the City of Victorville (five schools), and in the unincorporated community of El Mirage (County Service Area 70 - one school). AESD has three middle schools, two K-8 campuses, nine elementary campuses, and an independent study program. Our district offers Transitional Kindergarten, magnet school programs, a dual-immersion campus, STEM/STEAM instruction, afterschool programs, athletics, and extracurricular programs. Special Education services are offered at each site. In 1941, Adelanto School District was established to support the educational needs of the families from the newly opened George Air Force Base. The first schools were Harold H. George Elementary School and Harry R. Sheppard Middle School. Additional campuses were built around Adelanto starting with Adelanto Elementary School in the 1950s, as well as the former site of Adelanto Middle School (now demolished).
