The Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) - https://flysteamboat.com - seeks a dynamic, hands-on Operations, Safety & Security (OSS) Superintendent to lead airport operations, ARFF, security, customer service and UNICOM communications. Serving on the senior staff team reporting to the Airport Director, this role ensures safe, secure, and efficient operations at one of Colorado’s premier mountain airports. Major Duties include ensuring compliance with FAA Part 139; coordinate with TSA, airlines, law enforcement, fire/EMS, and airport stakeholders/partners; oversees the Airport Security Coordinator and all TSA directives; plans, manages and directs all airport UNICOM communication between the airport and in-route pilots, and pilots/ground vehicles on the airfield related to advisory notices, general information, airport ground movement/clearances; directing emergency response (EMS, aircraft, HAZMAT); manage budgets, equipment, staffing, and readiness.

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Aviation Management, Business, Public Administration or related field
• Six years of progressively more responsible experience in aviation with oversight, budget, and management responsibilities
• Significant knowledge and experience working with FAA representatives under Part 139 or with a complex Part 121 airline, working knowledge of regulations Parts 1542 or 1544 and three to five years’ experience directly leading various work groups
• Ability to obtain FAA certification as an ARFF Firefighter
• A valid license to drive a vehicle in Colorado and a safe driving record is required at the time of appointment and throughout employment
• AAAE certification as an Accredited Airport Executive or Certified Member is a plus
• Must be able to successfully complete a Federal Security Background Check to comply with TSA Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badging requirements
• Must provide verification of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200 and 700 training upon appointment, or must obtain such training within six months of appointment
