Job Summary
The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking an experienced Senior PeopleSoft Systems Administrator to provide backend technical administration and operational support for on premise PeopleSoft HCM, Financials (FMS), Campus Solutions (CS), and Interaction Hub (IH) environments. This role is ideal for a senior-level administrator with deep experience supporting PeopleSoft on Linux, managing PeopleTools environments, and partnering with functional, DBA, and infrastructure teams to ensure platform stability, security, and performance across multiple pillars.
Key Responsibilities
Provide senior-level backend administration and operational support for PeopleSoft HCM, FMS, CS, and Interaction Hub (IH) environments
Administer and maintain PeopleSoft on Linux (application servers, process schedulers, web servers)
Support PeopleTools lifecycle management, including PUM images, patches, fixes, upgrades, and post-deployment validation
Perform environment management across development, test, and production tiers
Manage batch processing, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Collaborate closely with Oracle DBAs, system administrators, security teams, and functional stakeholders
Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and problem management for PeopleSoft platform issues
Participate in change management, upgrade planning, and platform modernization initiatives
Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and operational best practices
Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience administering PeopleSoft in an on-premise environment
Strong experience supporting PeopleSoft on Linux operating systems
Proven expertise with PeopleTools, application server domains, process schedulers, and web tiers
Solid understanding of PeopleSoft architecture, batch processing, and integrations
Ability to work independently on complex issues while collaborating within a team environment
Experience in higher education or public sector ERP environments preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large, multi-pillar or shared-services PeopleSoft environments
Familiarity with PUM lifecycle management and upgrade coordination
Experience working alongside Oracle Database teams (AWR, performance triage, capacity planning)
Prior involvement in audit, compliance, or ITIL-aligned operational processes
Scripting experience (Shell, automation, monitoring) a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities PeopleSoft Technical Administration & Enhancement to include:
Technical environment support & management of PeopleSoft Internet Architecture on Windows and Linux platforms – this includes planning, installation, configuration, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting & change management of PeopleSoft Batch, Database, Application & Web servers.
Configuration & support of multiple Application Server & Web Server Domains for Production and Non-Production environments & multiple Process Schedulers
Implement software, hardware & configuration changes to improve system performance.
Network review, troubleshooting & resolution of Proxy Servers, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, VPN Servers & Load Balancing.
Issue review, troubleshooting & resolution for all PeopleSoft components; online & batch including maintenance of an issue repository & coordination of issues & problems with Oracle Global Support.
Monitoring & maintaining a comprehensive set of performance metrics for all system features.
Configure & administer EIPs (Enterprise Integration Points) between multiple PeopleSoft applications.
PeopleSoft Technical Environment Maintenance to include:
Migration of PeopleSoft Objects & Data between PeopleSoft environments as requested by developers.
Perform detailed comparisons between PeopleTools environments using PeopleSoft Compare reporting capability to make sure migrations are successful.
Applying PeopleTools updates and patches to all components of technical architecture. Application Engine Batch, Online, Application Server (Tuxedo) & Web Server.
Upgrades including PeopleTools minor & major release functional / technical upgrades. Must include move to production test experience & use of PeopleSoft Change Assistant.
Impact analysis & comparison of PeopleSoft objects during upgrades & communication with Developers over any impacts. Re-integration of project customizations.
Maintenance and technical support of PeopleSoft tools.
Other PeopleSoft Application Technical Tasks to include:
Assisting as technical resource with all general support & infrastructure problems & projects.
Participating in on-call responsibilities & respond to / resolve emergency issues after hours via cell phone / pager & on-site as necessary
Develop PeopleSoft solutions for Access Control and Portal Administration
Other duties as assigned
